Adverse Neural Tension is excessive nerve tightness or sticking, which can come from a variety of causes such as: disc bulge, degenerative spine changes, or scar tissue (David S. Butler).  Andrew pays particular attention to checking for and treatment of this condition. He has found it may be involved in lower or upper limb conditions, such as prolonged hamstring area pain (sciatic), or wrist pain (carpal tunnel syndrome).

Treatment often involves exercises which the patient can do independently, on a regular basis, to mobilise and stretch the nerves involved.  Deep tissue treatment such as Myofascial releases, and Mulligan Principle mobilisations with movement can also help recovery.
